Hey New Jersey! Love it already. I am not anywhere near an authority on hip-hop that being said I did enjoy this track a lot. Also I did grow up in New Jersey so in that right I do have some perspective worth taking into account. Fans of that always charming J Dilla sounding warm sampled backtrack will find a lot to love here. Building off that are some raunchy but relatable and entertaining lyrics delivered with a lot of punch. Check it out.

I am not someone you should come to for information about hip hop and rap. I have minimal knowledge and even less in judgements. But I will say that I liked the beat and sample used in this track, it’s smooth. It reminds me of the beats produced by the underground guys in the 90s where the beats were smooth and deliberate, and just let the lyrics shine.

Hip-Hop with airy production and a Young King Dave reference in the first 30-seconds, yes. I like this. I like this a lot. Matt Moreno’s flow throughout this track is consistent, but not monotonous, I’d have liked him to lean in a bit harder on some of the earlier bumps and breaks in the beat and switch up/speed his delivery a bit. Then again, the toss up from expecting that harder faster delivery and getting that more steady and consistent flow Matt puts down does keep the track engaging. Ultimately, I like this track and I’m interested to see Matt explore his range a bit more.

oooooh this is good. Like new Kanye but with smarter lyrics (not as smart as old Kayne but that’s a high bar). I found an old Rolling Stone from 2005, where Kanye is being interviewed from his home, a penthouse in Jersey City, talking about the diamond district. Man, times have changed. And with lyrics like “this is my corona virus flow, quarantined in the crib getting all kind of stoned”, Matthew Moreno is capturing it.
