Switch Mob | Pass the Aux (ft. Geno Five)

Yeah this rips. Switch Mob and Geno Five’s single “Pass the Aux” is a love letter to their influences which somehow retains a unique sound thanks in large part to extremely memorable lyrics and levels of groove not seen since Studio 54 was shut down for tax evasion. If you like high energy throwback hip-hop you gotta give this a listen.

2020 has been rough...to put it lightly. So it’s really refreshing to hear a track and FEEL the artists enjoying every second of the track. Switchmob is just having fun with this one–it’s a lovely collective of musicians, groovy bass melodies, and hip-hop all smacked together to catapult you back to 2019 in a crowded bar with your closest friends.

Switch Mob’s Rhythm section shreds on their track “Pass The Aux”. Between the tight, tight, tight, drums and hard slapping bass there is a disgusting amount of groove. This continues right up until the song abruptly ends. I had to double check that my Spotify hadn’t skipped the track. Spotify had nothing to do with it. For whatever reason Switch Mode decided to end the track with an abrupt cut to silence. I don’t want to end on a negative note because I did like this track. The band reminds me of a lot of jam groups that I used to catch on late nights in the summer in jersey. They all seem to have fun together and I can appreciate that.
