A groovy but otherwise uneventful early house bop. There is clear influence from 2000’s Indie electronic bands. If you are building a playlist of longer mellow house songs throw this into the mix.

Burner Herzog: Big Love

From folk, to rockabilly, to synth-pop Burner Herzog channels their appreciation and knowledge of a myriad of genres to create something unique. While there are familiar notes and nods Burner Herzog’s self aware style keeps the album fresh and fun. I had ha great time with this release. There are a few moments where it drags towards the end, but then again theres nothing wrong with a steady drive to the finish. Check it out if you have any passing interest in rock and roll tunes.

Morningside Lane: Under The Notion

Woah baby what a throwback. I think we are overdue for a late 70s early 80s power rock revival. While in a lot of places the track feels disjointed, there are enough good vibes to get me through to the other side.

Uncivilized: The Theme

Yes, Twin Peaks is a great show. The theme is iconic, and conjures warm comfortable memories of watching the mysteries of the town unfold. With that said I don’t know if this cover needed to be made. Uncivilized seems like a pretty talented group of musicians. I would have rather been listening to an original work of theirs than a cover that brought nothing new to the table.

Project Atlantic: Neon Lights

Sean: Project Atlantic’s “Neon Lights” is a very OK track. I don’t have much else to say.

Dillon: Tragic. I get the sense this project is very meaningful to Josh (the man behind the Project Atlantic name), he’s kept at it for 7 or so years and I want to find something good to say about “Neon Lights” but I can’t, honestly. It’s painfully flat on almost all levels. The production feels extremely polished and clean to a point where all personality the track may have potentially had is entirely wiped clean. The lyrics fit, thematically, into the indie rock mold but again they’re almost the algorithmic average of all indie rock lyrics. By outward appearance Project Atlantic is a doggedly pursued personal project, but in practice sounds like the worst of an overproduced commercial product.

Greg: Oof. I don’t have a ton to say about this one, it almost sounds like a professionally recorded karaoke, which is really harsh, and I am sorry.
