Clown, because at any lull in the conversation I could point at the clown and say, "Hey look it's a clown." Also, I feel it is important to support your local clowns, more clowns = less frowns.

Some questions with GUNK

What was the catalyst that initially brought GUNK together?

We got asked to play a show as a different band that we had, but we didn't want to play that music so we made a new band.

There is a strong undercurrent of proto-metal and hard rock in GUNK’s sound. Where did the inspiration for this come from?

It's definitely a product of the answer to question 1.

What was the process like putting together a release through mostly remote sessions?

We found the tapes and demoed stuff out across the country. Bass would get recorded in SF and then emailed, scratch drums and vocals would get added in NY, and then we got together in SF and recorded the album.

Are you a dog person or a cat person? Neither?

Neither

What is the last book you read? Was it any good?

Combating the Cult Mindset and yes it was great. Helped me develop empathy for religious people.

What GUNK song are you most looking forward to playing live once we can have concerts again?

We're On A Time Crunch Baby

Through GUNK you have revisited material recorded back in 2011. What was the most surprising thing you found when referring to these old tapes?

That the lyrical content is still topical 10 years later and it's just as fun to play as it was then, maybe more.
