MEDICAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS a Mad-lib by, Dropper

PATIENT: Doctor, whenever I stand up I get a FLUFFY pain in my MIRROR. Is this serious?
DOCTOR: Sounds as if you have an inflammation of your VEGAN CHEESE. You need an anti-TELEVISION shot.

PATIENT: Doctor, I'm thinking of having my JUNK removed. Is this a ENCHANTING operation?
DOCTOR: No, the operation is quite FLAMMABLE, providing you have TEENY TINY kidneys.

PATIENT: What are the symptoms of an overactive CANDLE?
DOCTOR: High ITALIAN WEDDING SOUP pressure. Also, severe INTERNS in the abdomen.

PATIENT: Doctor, is it possible for a 263-year-old man to have a BIG TOE attack?
DOCTOR: Only if he doesn't watch his MUSTACHE and eats too much of DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON.

Would You Rather

If you could pick one species of animals besides people to become 15 times their current size which one would you choose? Why?

Probably a blue whale because they’re already HUGE so I don’t know, why not go for the gold??

Some questions with Dropper

What was your first band/musical project?

I think my first musical project was forcing my cousins to perform songs I “wrote” in front of the rest of my uninterested family because I wanted to be a Spice Girl.

Where/how do you put your thoughts when creating a song?

Either in my phone notes or in my notebook. They usually start as just one line that I repeat until it turns into a full idea and I can put music to it.

Who is that mystery puppy on the cover of your self titled release?

To be honest, I don’t know who that dog is on the cover. When Jono and I were trying to come up with cover art for this first lil EP I ended up going through a huge folder of old photos he had taken on tour with other bands. The dog photo was the picture that just stood out to me the most. I really liked the weird feeling of nostalgia that came from this kinda tour gas station photo. Also, dog. I love dogs.

Do you have a favorite family tradition?

My dad’s side of the family is Italian (like, the kind of Italian people who come from New Jersey) so a lot of our traditions center around food. We always have manicotti on Christmas which in theory is a great tradition because who could hate pasta and cheese. What makes this tradition hilarious to me to me though, is the fact that there’s always so much drama surrounding the manicotti & the SAUCE.  Either someone’s meatballs are too dry, the cheese has no flavor, it’s always something, no matter how good the meal actually is. And if there’s one tradition I can get behind, it’s roasting the ones you love.

Can you tell us any secrets from working in a bowling alley?

Please be super nice to your bowling attendants. They are saints and probably had to explain the same thing to 25 drunk assholes within five minutes. (Not that that should be a secret)

What was the first song you learned how to play?

I can’t really remember what the first song I ever learned to play was. I grew up playing classical piano from the time I was eight or nine years old so that’s all a blur. I do remember that the first song I ever learned how to play on guitar was First Day Of My Life by Bright Eyes because I was in high school and had a lot of FEELINGS.

If you could only use 10 words for the rest of your life what would they be?

Fuck, New Jersey (that counts as one word, right?) , “I’m just trying to chill” , vegan, bagels, & dogs.

Was there a catalyst that brought this project together?

I’ve played in a bunch of bands over the course of the last ten years but never had my own project. I got kinda tired of always playing other people’s music. I had a couple of songs written that I hadn’t really shown anyone because I was super self conscious and just wasn’t ready to show to anyone. At the time I was playing in another band with Jono and I showed him some of the songs and he really pushed me to work on them and release them. We started demoing them and then were joined by my brother, Lawrence, who plays lead guitar in the recordings and Yukary who plays bass!

Where do you look when you are performing live?

I’m always either looking all the way in the back of the room or at my friends, who are usually in the front making faces at me.

Did you ever keep a diary?

I’ve always kept notebooks but I don’t know if I would call it a diary. I don’t have the attention span to keep up with writing everything that happens day to day, though I have tried to start that habit a few times. My notebooks are mostly me writing random ideas I had or ramblings or trying to piece songs together but there’s no real logic to it.

What is next for Dropper?

We’re coming out with a record! We finished recording a few months back at Bomb Shelter Studios in Nashville so once that’s all done we’ll be releasing it either late spring or summer (I think) .  Other than that I’m not sure! Hopefully playing more rad shows and writing more songs and maybe even a tour!

Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)
