A self-portrait by TiDUS

Would You Rather

your skin flash like a fast strobe light, or be incredibly slippery? Why?

Flash like a fast strobe light, I’d be like a walking shooting star.

Some questions with TiDUS

You have mentioned that you do all of your own production. Are you self-taught?

Yessir. Self -Taught. Between YouTube, observation and experimenting.

How do you balance being in control of all aspects of a song? Do you feel certain parts come easier than others?

Sometimes making the music is a breeze then the melody is challenging. Sometimes vice versa. Sometimes it all flows together seamlessly. I balance it by having fun with each aspect, if I’m hitting a wall on the melody, I can always adjust something in the music, or I’ll move to another song and circle back. Key is to keep the energy fresh!

What three items do you never leave the house without?

Phone, keys, cards.

How do you keep the creative momentum going during quarantine?

Keep creating, keep digesting information that will stimulate your brain and your imagination. Exercise, rest properly, get as much sunlight as you can. Take walks. Chime in with friends. Keep on creating.

In your opinion, what is the most important thing for people in the US to be doing right now?

Doing inner work. Tap into the voice within and strengthen that relationship while still at home with little distractions. This is THE perfect time to examine ourselves, banish old energy and create new pathways to being are greatest selves.

You once mentioned that you felt a kinship to extraterrestrial life, in the context of people who think differently. Do you still consider yourself to be an "alien"? How do you forge connection with other individuals?

100% At the very least on a metaphorical level, my way of thinking is still alien to the everyday ways we are conditioned to think. My aspirations, vision, perspective of our future here on earth is still a bit alien to most. If Steve Jobs walked up to your parents in 1985 and said in less than 3 decades I Will have created wireless, touchscreen telephones that fit in your pocket and are basic mini computers and the majority of the world will become dependent on this technology, how would they have looked at him? But that just tells me I’m thinking forward. The forging of connections is simply an energy thing. If the energy feels right, then there’s something there meant to be explored. That’s my radar.

What are your most important values as a musician?

To utilize the love of the craft and gifts given to me to inspire as many people as humanly possible. To inspire people to pursue who they are and the questions they want to answer in this life.

Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)

Believe in yourself, and visualize a beautiful earth for all people.
