Would you rather…

have all your teeth be made of Starburst or your eyelashes be made of spaghetti (with sauce)?

Shari: Teeth made of Starburst-the orange and pink flavors only

Kate: I wear contacts, so spaghetti eyelashes would be a complete nightmare.

Nikki: Teeth made of starburst! It would taste so good

Some questions with THICK

Hey there, how’s your year been? What has been your brightest moment?

Kate: The brightest moment was getting to go on tour with Mean Jeans and The Chats, we had been waiting two years for that…

Shari: It was awesome getting to play with Alkaline Trio!

Nikki: Oh deff the last tour- it was ridiculous

What was your best hiding spot in hide-and-go-seek?

Shari: In plain sight in the dark

Kate: I’d always pick a spot in a deep closet, so even if someone looked or stuck their hand in I could either crouch or dodge out of the way

Nikki: I always played it outside so it was in a bush somewhere

Can we hear a little about your 2022 album 'Happy Now’? Where were you all when the album was written and recorded?

Kate: Almost all of it was written in between our tour in the fall of 2021 and when we recorded in Brooklyn at Studio G in March 2022. I know some artists were able to produce a ton during COVID, but I was feeling really uninspired when things were pretty shut down, it was hard to be creative.

How long has the album been in the works?

Kate: I guess technically you could say since our last album, but really it feels like it’s much more recent.

How do you feel now that it’s wrapped up and the work is behind you?

Shari: A day's work is never done...JK. We are super excited to play these songs on our upcoming tour.

Kate: Yeah, I feel really ready to share it with the world. But like Shari said, the album tour hasn’t even happened yet and we’re already starting to write songs for the next one.

Have you had a chance to play any of the new tracks live yet? How was the reception?

Kate: We got to play a few of them on our tour this spring, which felt really good. It’s nice to see people bobbing or being able to sing along by the last chorus when you know no one has ever heard the song before.

What is your go-to Karaoke song? Why?

Kate: I keep making the mistake of doing “Wannabe” by Spice Girls, it’s so much fun, but it’s really meant to be sung by more people, so if I get into it, I’m completely out of breath like halfway through the song.

Shari: I don’t do a lot of Karaoke but I sang “Burning Up” by the Jonas Brothers once and didn’t know any of the words and the people at the bar seemed really upset Nikki: I always go for “Dammit” by Blink 182 or Hands down by Dashboard- they are both so much fun to sing and jump around to

What is your worst habit?

Shari: Watching too much reality TV

Nikki: I always ask “do we have everything” right when I am about to leave a place... It makes everyone nervous and doubt that they have everything

If every word you said for the rest of your life had to start with the same letter, which letter would you choose? Why?

Kate: Anything except for “S” because there’s just way too much hiss.

Shari: A because it seems like I could say words without a Long Island Accent.

Nikki: L I have no clue why haha
