Meet Me not you

Has anyone ever told you, “it’s me, not you?” Have you ever used that line? Does it actually work? Or is it some reverse psychology thing? I have questions. I want answers.

To scratch that itch, we subjected Me Not You to our pressing questions. This indie duo makes garage pop that packs an emotional punch. Fresh off their debut album, we discuss the proven hangover cure, their favorite NYC bands, and vegan pie’s superiority.

Get thee some dairy-free cheese and give it a gander!

Would You Rather…

be trapped in a dark closet with a swan or a scorpion? Please explain why.

Swan, no question. Good conversation, polite manners, and soft enough to use as a pillow.

Some Questions with Me not you

Where is your favorite venue in NYC to see a show?

Elsewhere, newish venue in Bushwick. Amazing sound and lights, and just a big energy to every show I’ve seen there. Can’t wait to play there.

What is the all-time best-ever cure for a hangover?

Sleep, water and food. Whichever works at the moment, but all 3 are the keys to success.

What is the creative process like between the two of you?

Extremely intuitive. We basically share one brain at this point, after all the years of working together we’ve had. One of us will start an idea and the other will be able to finish it. Our process is extremely collaborative.

What are your top three essential items for surviving NYC in the summer?

Bike, ceiling fan, sour beers.

Where is your favorite venue In NYC to play a show?

Brooklyn Steel, without a doubt.

Can you cross your eyes?

Nope! :(

Who are your favorite bands active in NYC right now?

Sonny Hell, dope NYC punk band. Rebounder and Surfbort also.

Who took the photography for your latest singles? How do the images tie into the narrative of your music?

A dope photographer from Switzerland named Chantal Convertini (https://www.instagram.com/paeulini). When we came across her stuff totally randomly we just connected with it immediately. We hit her up and asked her if she’d want to work with us on the single and album art. Her sense of light and subject really echoed what we were saying in the songs, so it was a perfect fit.

If you were offered a free tattoo what would you get?

A fan said they wanted to get the album cover art (the 2 hands) and I thought that was a pretty good idea!

here is the best place to get pizza in NYC?

Vegan pie from Paulie Gee’s Sliceshop!

What keeps you inspired to create more music?

Everything. Walking around New York. Seeing the world. Everything seems to inspire us and we can’t turn it off.

Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)

LISTEN TO OUR NEW ALBUM! :)
