Would You Rather

only be able to buy things with coins or by trading random objects? Please explain.

coins, i think the denominations of coins would go up so we probably wouldn’t have to carry that many. Imagine a $10,000 coin the size of a dime, that’d be cool

Some questions with kees.

If you could create your own Ben and Jerry’s flavor, what would it be?

I’d love to see a passion fruit and Kit Kat one. That’d be amazing.

What was the inspiration behind your latest single “Set in Stone”?

I’m really just inspired by the moment. I don’t write so I hum melodies and try to freestyle and create a song structure. So I just feel around with the song and see where it takes me. Then I fill in blank spots and connect the words I did freestyle to make a full cohesive story. So I guess I had those things on my mind and subconscious when recording.

What are your thoughts on streaming platforms? Have they helped or hindered the industry?

I love the streaming platforms. The digital age we live has created a platform for amazing artists to gain recognition. I don’t know the statistics but I can confidently say there are more successful artists than there ever has been. The internet gives artists longevity and so do streaming services. Overall it’s a numbers game, once you get to the monthly streams desired and views from all platforms, you can support yourself by yourself.

Who did the artwork for “Set in Stone”? What was the process like creating it?

I made the artwork for the cover on my iPad. I love vintage and rough looking art so I used a vintage gemstone illustration and changed the coloration of it. It made sense because the gemstone in the center is set in a stone. I go off of feel and visuals so I just liked the look of the font and the layering and blending I did.

What is the best interaction you have ever had with a fan of your music?

I’ve only had interactions with someone I don’t know who is a fan online and all of them are special. It’s crazy to hear people across the globe DM me and say “omg i love this song”

Who are your favorite musicians coming out of NJ right now?

Gotta be this guy Bruce Springsteen. He’s an up and coming bedroom pop sensation. I actually don’t listen to Bruce or know any new NJ artists but my #1 is Joe Budd... 070 Shake. She’s so amazing and is very driven by art which I love. Very good musician.

Have you or do you plan on doing any Livestream performances during quarantine?

I don’t plan to have any live-streamed performances. I am really particular with how and where I’d like to do a live performance and it’s just not possible now. I am working on another video though.

Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)

Thank you to everyone who read this. I have a lot of stuff coming out. I have a clothing line called nead. which I am putting a lot of energy into, go check it out @nead.clothing because my new collection will be out soon. Also have plans to practice and create in difference disciplines and mediums so I want to develop myself as an artist and human. I am working on a short film and definitely will be doing youtube in the future, but right now I’m just focusing on music and fashion.
