Would You Rather
be the greatest juggler in the world or the greatest hypnotist? What would you do with your new-found powers?
We both rather be the greatest hypnotist to put all the wack rappers to sleep 😴
Some questions with ISO INDIES
You have music spanning back all the way to 2016 under ISO INDIES what has it been like making music together for all this time?
We actually have music spanning back to 2014 under ISO Indies. We released a Self titled EP (ISO INDIES EP) with 10 tracks to introduce ourselves to the world. The project is currently on audiomack but no other streaming services, unless our fans want it maybe one day we’ll put it back out. Making music together for 10 years has been a process we manifested and mapped out. Being that it’s two of us we keep everything equal and make decisions together. We don’t sugarcoat anything or force one another to do anything we can’t see for ourselves.
Have you noticed any changes in the way you approach making music together?
We only see growth in our approach of making music. Wether we’re challenging ourselves to write to something new or finding the right pocket for us both to excel on a beat we always talk to one another to see if it’s the right way to go. We started out in a basement practicing and rehearsing nonstop to perfect our craft in our early years and since then we stuck with that mindset to always hone our skills.
How do you navigate releasing an album during the quarantine?
For us, we just want to make sure the messages we put out there resonate or have relation to the people. So putting out a project during quarantine isn’t necessarily hard because we have tons of music/projects in our vault. What matters most is about what we put out during this quarantine and how it helps push or reflect on our brand.
Where would be your dream venue to play?
Dream venue would be Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center, us being from Brooklyn, that would be special to represent for our city in that way.
Your music has been described as having an "East Coast" sound. Do you think particular regions of the country have distinct sounds, or do you think the influence of the internet has made regionalized music a thing of the past?
We could agree that certain regions of the country have distinct sounds but it really stems back to the early days of Hip-Hop when East coast/West coast was a thing. For years we’ve been separated by regions in Hip-Hop but if we stand together we would be unstoppable.
What is one thing you would want to change about the music industry?
One thing we would change about the industry is exploiting cultures to make a dollar off of it and not receiving anything in return. Big cooperations and labels tend to use us as a pawn to navigate their way to the top and leave us at the bottom when we ARE the culture.
What is the most memorable thing to happen to you on the NYC subway system?
Most memorable thing to happen to us would be getting a damn summons for a metro card because when those boys come out that side door and you see that uniform and badge all you could think to yourself is “damn please god, not today”
Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)
One last thing to our people out there & to the ISONATION, if you have a dream please pursue it and never give up on what you believe in. When there’s a will there’s a way, you just gotta stay ISO, stack and pray. Bless up
