Earth Dad’s Learning Music is what I’d imagine would be the soundtrack to learning how to surf in space. Or perhaps surfing some kind of 90’s internet web inception sequence. I am particularly HERE for “What U Do” and it’s sneaker swaying sound. Also rather a fan of that tasty bonus “So Clean”. Throw me my wetsuit, I’m ready to see these fellas live.

This is just some really lovely spacey, dreamy, jangling pop. I really appreciate the way they give the songs space let the lyrics sort of breathe…makes for some nice moments of floating introspection.

Overall, it sounds pretty familiar, kind of hazy and sweet. However, the warm, boyish vocals and soft little hooks give it a personal bend.

These guys are pretty new and young I think, but there’s a maturity and a playfulness to the work that’s pretty exciting. I say add a bit more spice, a bit more of a kick.

Welcome back to this world minimal-synth, and or synth-pop jams. It is a style of music that has been cropping up since the late ’70s. I am always going to be drawn to the stripped-down lo-fi aesthetic that comes along with the genre. That being said, while I do like to see some innovation with each new rendition. I love everything that minimal synth music has done in the past and I think that has become a pitfall for anyone approaching the genre. While it does appear to be a pretty rigid genre I still think there is room to push it into other directions. This is a more than competent Synth-Pop EP. I am not saying that it was in any way unsuccessful. It checks off all the boxes that fit it into the genre. I am only pointing out that the band plays it pretty safe with a genre that is known for being innovative.
