Would You Rather
be hugged by a very sweaty person for too long, or ride an elevator with someone who is farting a lot? Why?
Personally I'd take the elevator ride. At some point, they'd get off or I'd get off.
Some questions with Caine Casket
What was the last book you read? Did you like it?
The Wretched Of The Earth By Frantz Fanon
If you could give yourself ten years ago any advice what would it be?
Don't always feel the need to be constricted by circumstance. Be free sometimes allow yourself that right, experience the moment.
What does your family think about your music?
I'd say my family has become more supportive over time. Things take time.
How has your quarantine been going?
With the current state of affairs, I'd say it's mentally its been rough. I've experienced a lot of loss during this quarantine. Then seeing more bloodshed in the media constantly reinforcing the evident trauma I acknowledge every day based on my existence isn't easy on the physique. I'm grateful to have this time to reflect though.
Who would be your dream director to collaborate with?
I'd say, Darren Aronofsky. I like his usage of surrealism.
What is the most positive effect making music has had on your life?
Making music for me is like time travel. My recording process usually is about communicating feelings, thoughts, or ideas from a distance version of myself. Having the chance to get those messages especially in moments when I needed to hear them adds a lot of positive reinforcement in my life.
How do you balance switching between different creative mediums when creating a new release?
In the past, I would try to handle everything in my creative process all at once. As I've grown with my art & skillset I started to separate things that don't mesh. It's healthier for me that way.
Any final comments? (This is your electronic soapbox for one last answer.)
I just hope that people take this time to be kind to themselves. That's all.
