Would you rather…

be best friends with a generic rainbow hedgehog or lambchop the puppet? Why?

I would rather be friends with a generic rainbow hedgehog because even though he's generic he still seems pretty fuckin chill. Also if my memory serves me correctly lambchop was pretty annoying on the regs and would probably constantly be singing that goddamned "song that never ends".

Some questions with funsucker

Hey, nice to meet you. Can you tell us about the project Anger Jack?

ANGERJACK is a one man rage core anger hatred project I started probably a year and a half ago. It was originally spawned as a result of all the pent up stress and rage I had built up from working as a Chef and being forced to manage recalcitrant dimwits and the anguish of restaurants. The project is also meant to lampoon but also embrace general toxic male behavior. I originally intended to only put out one release but there was some good reception to the project especially the music video for "DIPSHITS LIKE YOU MAKE ME WANNA COMMIT HORRIBLE ACTS OF VIOLENCE."

After recording the demo "TOXIC MASCULINITY" I completely lost my voice for a week and a half.

If you had to end each live performance with a catchphrase what would it be?

I HOPE YOU ALL FUCKING DIE FUCK YOU

How do you get out of a creative funk?

Honestly either force it until something sticks or just wait for the rut to pass over. Luckily ANGERJACK is fairly free flowing and easy to produce, I could probably put out an EP every week if I really wanted to.

What inspires the lengthy and sometimes darkly comical track names?

We'll someone did actually throw a rock through my window and I do wanna shove it up their fuckin ass ( I still have the rock) . Other than that the names are inspired by my general disdain for dumb people and also I just get a kick out of fucked up shit.

Have you ever had a supernatural experience?

In 2010 I lived in a tiny mountain town in Colorado of about 250 people that has a definite reputation for being haunted. I was working at a little pizza joint there and the kitchen manager had a little pottery shed out back. One afternoon between lunch and dinner we heard a loud crash. Myself and the hippie kitchen manager went out back to discover that a wooden box of tools had been flung off of the work bench and landed several feet away on the floor and the pottery wheel had been turned on and was spinning. There's no way an animal could have hurled the tools that far and there was no way a person could have gone in and out of the shed without being seen. My money says it was a Tommy Knocker, one of the mischievous dwarves from the nearby mines!

How do you view the use of noise and fuzz in the production of your songs?

I've always been a fan of feedback, it's the best way to disturb the old people. I generally love mid level and shitty production in music. I guess the "noise" elements in ANGERJACK just serve to support the feeling of discomfort in the ambiance but I definitely didn't put that level of thought into it.

What are your thoughts on high school musical?

I've never seen it but I feel like I might be down. I saw Jane Lynch in Washington Square park once and she smiled at me which was dope. She was great in "Best in Show".

Who do you look towards for inspiration in the grindcore/doom genre?

The only Doom shit I honestly know and love is Candlemass which fuckin rules. I'd say as far as ANGERJACK goes the big influences would be Aborted Fetus because it's some of the most hateful stuff ever, Stoma, Waco Jesus, and Meat Shits.

What is your favorite song that you have ever written? Why?

Favorite ANGERJACK song would have to be "YOU MAKE ME SICK YOU FUCKING IDIOT," off of TOXIC MASCULINITY because it's the first song I did and the vocals are just outta control and the lyrics just flowed out so naturally (all the vocals, drums, and bass are improvised) it's also unnecessarily long which was originally my intention for all the songs until I realized it's really hard to yell as hard as you can for over 6 minutes straight with terrible technique.

Where do you want to take the project from here?

I will continue to pump out more material I think. There's actually another split worth of songs ready to be put out just gotta get the details of the release together. I would love to do a one off live ANGERJACK set and possibly more, it just comes down to getting someone who's down to stick to the shitty/ minimalist nature of the drumming because I think it's super important to the sound.

Any Final Comments?

Despite all the negativity that is thid project I'm actually a pretty nice and decent guy.

Check out all the shitty releases on Shitfarmer Productions, And check out my real band Orthopedic Cranial Encavement
