Definitely an unorthodox vibe. Definitely wanna see (feel) it live. My favorite is ‘Glitter Glamour Atrocity (Car Crash Mix)’ because it samples old movie sound bits on top of their consistent style of heavy electric guitar and drums.

Roger Waters would be proud. White hills meshes together a transcendent blend of sound flowing seamlessly through its 34 minute, 3 song EP. Admittedly, I am a sucker for the long-winded electro/wammy riffs and if you are looking for your next progressive, psychedelic obsession, A POINT IN TIME is just for you.

Flowy riffs! Reverby-Distorted Found Audio! Dystopian Vibes! Oh My! This quarantine EP makes me feel a little less alone and a little more sane in these isolating and dark times. Also, sampling some of the worst, most memorable lines from The Corporation was a nice touch, even if it was a bit on the nose. I can’t say enough good things about White Hills, the production is the good kind of sludgy, and the momentum this post-rock outfit is able to build within a track is both impressive and infectious.

I really do love myself some good ambient noise music. The reverb rings into my ears and gets stuck knocking back and forth inside my skull. Each song is familiar to the last in its noise, drone, and distorted audio samples, but change in tempo and aggression. That being said I think White Hills falls into a somewhat generic noise and ambient sound that I, personally, am pretty familiar with. Overall I do like this EP for a couple of listens but I’m not sure if I would seek it out to listen to it again.

What a beautiful, dark sludgy mess. This EP sits in that lovely place where drone, metal, hard rock, and ambient music all overlap in some kind of massive Venn diagram. White Hills has long proved that they are capable of putting out polished, and hard hitting psychedelic rock tunes, but this EP introduces a new side that I have really come to enjoy. It’s rough, sprawling, and explorative. The release is not afraid to take its time and build to wildly satisfying payoffs. Turn it on really loud and throw your head back and forth.
